DR. LARRY FELKINS Director
Dr. Larry Felkins began serving the Chilton Baptist Association as Director of Missions in July 1997. He was a Pastor before coming to CBA. The Association has experienced tremendous growth under his leadership, especially in the areas of missions, ministry, and financial support. He led the Association in establishing the "Vision Fund", to return money back to the member churches, for the purpose of starting new ministries and missions projects at the local church level.
Dr. Felkins is active in Southern Baptist life, having served on several committees at the State and National levels. He currently serves on the Board of Trustees at Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary, the Board of Regents at the University of Mobile and Adjunct Professor for New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. He is also actively involved in the local community, serving as Chaplain for the Clanton Police Department.
Bro. Larry and his wife Judy were married in 1967. Judy is an active partner in the ministry and serves on the Association staff. They have two daughters; Rachael, married to Robbie Nicolaisen; and Leigh Ann, married to Keith Sharp; two granddaughters, Bayley and Georgia.
Dr. Felkins is a graduate of Samford University, New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary and Kingsway Theological Seminary with additional postgraduate studies at Trinity Theological Seminary.
REV. CARLOS LEMUS Hispanic Missionary
Rev. Carlos Lemus, Hispanic Missionary, joined the Association staff in February 2003. Carlos comes from Guatemala, where he served churches as Pastor, Minister of Music and Youth Minister. He also served as the Sub Secretary of the Guatemala Baptist
Convention.
Bro. Lemus earned Bachelor and Masters Degrees in Theology from the Guatemala Baptist Seminary and was a member of the faculty for three years. In addition, he has studied Choral Techniques
and Musical Psychology at the University of Oklahoma.
While serving as Pastor of our Hispanic Mission, he also ministers to the spiritual and physical needs of the Hispanic community in Chilton and Autauga Counties and the surrounding areas. He and his wife, Zuly, have two children, Carlos Jr. and Anna.
MRS. JUDY FELKINS Ministry Associate
After a twenty year career in banking, Mrs. Judy Felkins resigned in 1995 to become a full time partner in ministry with her husband Larry (CBA Director of Missions). She joined the Association staff in December, 2004.
Judy provides missions and ministry support services in the areas of communication, coordination and promotion, as well as the daily operations of the Association Office. She also serves the Association as Senior Adult Ministry and Women's Ministry Team Leader.
MS. LISA EDWARDS Licensed Professional Christian Counselor
In cooperation with the Alabama Baptist Children's Homes and Family Ministries, Lisa joined the CBA staff in January 2007. She provides licensed professional Christian counseling to families and individuals of all ages.
Lisa is a graduate of New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary with a Masters Degree in Marriage and Family Counseling.
